 Information about SK Ray Parker:

Brothers,

Joyce Cross, Raymond Parker’s sister has moved Ray to a Virginia Beach rehab center as of this past Thursday.  He is doing well but has a long way to go. He has regained some use of his left leg and foot but his left arm still needs a lot of work along with his hand. His speech is a little rough and he seems to mumble when he gets tired. His concentration is very short if you talk to him, but he knows who you are and he will acknowledge you.  Also, his left eye is weak so when you talk to him you will need to stand or sit on his right side. If you go to see Ray please be aware that the stroke has affected his talking in a way that he will most likely be talking when you see him and he will do the same when you leave. I know you are probably saying that’s Ray, but no it isn’t. After suffering a stroke something happened that caused him to talk continuously and it really bothers him. It bothers him so much that he keeps asking for help. Please be patient and pray for him. When you are ready to leave it will be hard because again he will continue talking. Please know that you will not upset him and he will be ok.

Ray loved the Knights of Columbus and especially the 4th degree. He would do anything that was asked of him if it was for the Knights so please keep Ray and Joyce in your prayers.  I have been saying the rosary with him while he was in Richmond and I plan to continue doing it where he is now. He loves Tropical Smoothies so for your information there is one located across the street from him at Haygood Shopping Center.
