Dominican Knights on their way to D.C.
On August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, nine Dominican Novices made their Simple Profession of their vows at a Mass at St Gertrude's parish in Madeira OH. Principal celebrant was Archbishop Christopher Cardone, O.P. of Honiara, Solomon Islands, Bishop Roger Foys, D.D. of Covington KY, and Rev. Kenneth Letoile, O.P. Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Joseph were also present. The nine men in the white habit in the photograph made their profession, and will now go to the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC for further advancement in their vocation. All nine are members of the Knights of Columbus, in the Fourth degree. Eight of the nine are members of Precious Blood Assembly #2947, and four of them are members of Archbishop Elder Council #1195 which meets at St. Gertrude' parish. The men in the black habit are the new class of Novices beginning their first year on their road to becoming Dominicans.
