News & Announcements
April Ladies News
We had eleven members present at our March 19th meeting. President Shirley Sommer brought the meeting to order. Secretary Rose Gullifor read the minutes for October, November, and December 2017. She also presented an up-to-date list of members and passed one out for all members present. Jan Paul presented the Treasurer's Report. She also read us a very meaningful thank you note she received from St. Margaret's House. Both reports were accepted as read. Jackie Hoffman had no reports of any ill members. She also reported that she bought masses for Pat Gullifor and Cathy Rulli.
Shirley thanked the members for all their volunteer work thus far in 2017 and 2018. A big thank you to the March hostesses: Rose Klosowski and Shelby Mittendorf. We had a wide variety of wonderful tasting appetizers in a belated celebration of St. Patrick's Day. We also had delicious green punch and green cheese cake for dessert.
Shelby reported that the Treasure Chest Dinner will be held on Sunday, March 25th. She explained what help would be needed and passed a list around for volunteers for that day. Spaghetti Suppers will continue to be held in April and May. Volunteers on those nights are always needed. We have helped Holy Communicants during the past several years. We will continue that help, but if any of the members have any new ideas, we will be happy to hear them at our April meeting.
We had an in-house speaker at our April meeting. Joan Golubski talked about her new-found hobby of oil painting. She showed us a few of her paintings and talked about how she began painting. Hostesses for April were Shelby Mittendorf and Rose Gullifor. Door prizes of beautiful lily plants were won by Joan Golubski and Rose Gullifor. Thanks to all who helped make April’s meeting great. The next meeting will be on Monday, May 21st, at 6:30 P.M. See you all there.

This Ladies news update went out in February, but was missed by many of our ladies so I'm republishing:
This was in February's newsletter, but since many missed it there, we are republishing it as a "News" story.
K of C Ladies
There were nine ladies present for our November 20th
meeting. Shirley Sommer brought the meeting to
order. Linda Ong led us in a prayer for all the suffering
people in the world. We thanked God for our friends and
family and the ability to get together at Thanksgiving time.
Secretary Rose Gullifor could not be with us because she
was having an early Thanksgiving for her family. Janet Paul
gave us her Treasurer's report. It was accepted as
read. Friendship Chairman Jackie Hoffman reported that
Zack Risor sent us a thank you note for the money we sent
to him. He said he was planning to go on an outing with
his boys and that the money would really help with the
expenses. A mass was said for Felix Rulli who passed away
in the fall. We were concerned about Cathy Rulli and
hoped she was well. As I write this newsletter, Cathy has
since died. Our prayers are with her. One of the members
said that Jodie Spradlin had fallen the day before and hurt
her knee. Hope she gets better soon.
Our Christmas dinner will be on Sunday, December 10th,
at Papa Vinos. We will not exchange gifts and will order
from the menu. Members who were not at the meeting
will be contacted about attending.
No meeting will be held in January or February. Our next
regular meeting will be held on March 19, 2018, at 6:30
P.M. Shelby reported that our Treasure Chest Dinner will
be held on Sunday, March 25th. We will also begin our
Spaghetti Suppers on March 8, 2018, from 4 to 6:00 P.M.
and continue them every month through November 2018.
We thank hostesses for November, Dolores Pajakowski
and Linda Ong. The desserts that they served were
delicious as usual. Door prizes were won by Ann
Schopmeyer and Dolores Pajakowski. The meeting was
adjourned, and we had our cookie exchange. Dessert was
then served. On December 20th, nine members attended
our Christmas Dinner at Papa Vinos. Joan Golubski and
Rose Klosowski were hostesses. The food was very good
as usual and a fine time was had by all. Joan and Rose
provided everyone with a Christmas token gift, and door
prizes were won by Rose Gullifor and Shelby Mitteldorf.
Our sympathy goes to Rose Gullifor whose husband, Pat,
died in January after a long illness. Our prayers are with
her as they are also with Pat.
Hostesses for our March meeting will be Rose Klosowski
and Shelby Mittendorf. Hope we all come through the
winter safely. See you all at the March meeting in 2018.

Louisana Flood Relief
Southern Louisiana is being hit by what is called “the worst natural disaster since Superstorm Sandy.”
Several people have died, with tens of thousands of others forced to leave their homes. More than 30,000 people have been rescued from the flooded areas, many seeking refuge in emergency shelters.
In response to the devastation, the Supreme Council has launched an online donation drive to assist with local relief operations. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to relief efforts.
"The Knights of Columbus has a long tradition of providing disaster relief," said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson. "Our communities, like the people of Southern Louisiana, need our time, our efforts and our financial assistance. We are going to do all that we can, working with the Louisiana State Council and local councils, to help those most in need as a result of the flooding."
Your support is urgently needed. Please DONATE TODAY to help those suffering such devastation.
Get a good Knight’s sleep for only $10.00 per Knight.
$10.00 will purchase “one” much needed storage tote that are in short supplies in the area.
Our goal is to purchase and deliver 600 totes.
Sleep will knowing you have helped your Brother Knights in Louisiana recover from the historic flooding.
