Officer's Installation Ceremony

On Monday, 17 July 2017, we shall have the Officer's Installation Ceremony for Fr. Edwin F. Kelley Council 5750 for Fraternal Year 2017-2018. The District 13 District Deputy and District Warden will officiate the ceremony, our Council Chaplain will provide spiritual guidance, and we shall have a special guest: newly-installed Virginia State Deputy Steve Kehoe. Plus, our Worthy District Deputy, Dave Lewis, has arranged a surprise especially for our Council. This will be a good ceremony, and a great way to kick off the new Fraternal Year. But, we cannot do it without you. We ask our members to wear business formal attire, complete with name badge and pins.

I encourage you to bring your loved ones. And, please bring a homemade dish to share. Following the Officer's Installation Ceremony, we shall have a potluck meal together. So, please bring your favorite dish, or dessert, and beverages. This will be a great time to share with your fellow Brother Knights and our families and friends.

Set up will begin in the Council Hall at or before 6:00 PM. Officer's Muster is at 6:45 PM. The ceremony begins promptly at 7:00 PM. I look toward to seeing you all there.

Vivat Jesus,

Special Business Meeting 21 Nov 2016

Worthy Brother Knights,

We have several things to discuss on Monday, NOV 21, 2016.

1) Last week, Council 5750 was asked by St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School to assist them in their Our Lady of Guadalupe event on DEC 12.

We need to discuss their request for assistance.

2) Last week, the OLACC altar servers requested the use of our hall on DEC 10 for the Altar Server's Appreciation Night. It was originally planned to be on the DEC 18, but the schedule has moved up. We will need Knights to assist in this event. Last year, we arranged bingo games for them and had a potluck dinner. We need to discuss what we want to do at this year's event. Could I get some volunteers?

3) We need to finalize our Christmas Toys for Tots Pancake Breakfast.

I have made contact with the USMC Reserve and we will deliver our toys to them. I need your help in making this event bigger than it was last year. Steve Bow will be making advertisement materials for this event.

I need additional volunteers to help arrange music, decorations, and finalize the menu. I want this to be a special event. I will personally be delivering the toys to the Marines in Fredericksburg after the event is over.

4) We need to finalize the KCIC Poster event with St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School.

5) Bill Petrak made a motion for Council 5750 to purchase English and Spanish Catholic Educational books for OLACC to be passed out after mass on Christmas Day. The motion passed. Now, we need to finalize the purchase of the books and the planning of the distribution. I will not be in VA during the holidays. I will be in CA visiting family. I need a Knight to volunteer to lead this effort. Bill also made a motion that we spend $4000 for Catholic educational materials to be placed in the Narthex and the Chapel. The motion passed, and we need to decide what types of items will we purchase for the community.

6) What are we doing for Supreme Council's Coats for Kids? I think it'd be great if we could pass a motion to contribute funds to purchase Coats for Kids. This winter is expected to be a very cold winter. It'd be great if we could help make it more bearable.

7) We will have a special guest, Angela Clark, from A Best Choice Mobile Ultrasound and Pregnancy Resource Center, who will be coming to give us a Catholic Education talk. We will be presenting her pro-life ministry with a $1000 donation.

This may be a long meeting. But, it's necessary. I need your help in planning these events. We must have quorum to pass motions so that we can move these matters forward. This holiday season will be busy for us, but I think you will all be proud of the good works that will be doing for our community.

I hope to see you all there.

Vivat Jesus,
