Having current KCS Training Certification is required for all clergy, religious, employees, and persons wishing to serve as lay ministers or volunteers in the Diocese of Fort Worth.
"Initial Training" is provided for persons who have not previously attended KCS training, or for persons whose 3-year KCS Training Certification has expired. This course focuses on recognizing how perpetrators of abuse gain access to children, signs of boundary violations and abuse, and how to take action if abuse is suspected. Texas requirements for reporting abuse and the Diocesan Code of Conduct and Behavior Standards for Ministry are thorougly reviewed.
"Renewal Training" must be completed prior to your KCS Training Certification expiration date. Two options are available: 1) Attend a live Retraining Session, or 2) complete the Online Retraining Course through the Armatus Program. The online course can only be taken "every other cycle" -- i.e., if your last Renewal Training was done Online, you must attend a Live Retraining Session for your next renewal.
Upcoming Training Sessions:
