COUNCIL INFORMATION

Pangborn Council # 1365, Hagerstown Maryland

Pangborn Knights of Columbus Council #1365 is comprised of members of the Knights of Columbus, the largest fraternal lay organization of The Catholic Church. We are Catholic gentlemen committed to the exemplification of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism and Defense of The Catholic Church. The order is consecrated to The Blessed Virgin Mary and is unequivocal in it’s loyalty to the Pope and is firmly committed to the protection of human life from conception to natural death and the preservation and the defense of the family. We are dedicated to helping Catholic Families spiritually grow in their faith and defend their beliefs. Through strong volunteerism of time and talent, members involve themselves in charitable programs to meet the needs of 6 parishes.

The Knights of Columbus Pangborn Council in Hagerstown, Maryland was chartered with the name "Pangborn" after the generousity of the Pangborn brothers. The Pangborns have always been mindful of the needs of their employess, their community, their Church and Her institutions. Their leadership and resources helped Hagerstown, MD., home of the Pangborn Corporation, through the difficult depression years. In 1945 they established the Pangborn Foundation to aid charitable, educational, religious and scientific causes. Through the Foundation the Pangborn brothers have underwritten medial research and provided for the medical care of needy persons. Magnificent new buildings at Mount St. Mary's College and the University of Notre Dame testify to their generosity and support of Christian higher education."
