HOW DO I JOIN COUNCIL 4581?
Step One: You must be a practical (that is, practicing) Catholic man (18 years of age or older) in union with the Holy See.
Step Two: Click WHY JOIN? and see the video on Why you should join the Knights of Columbus. If already seen, please proceed to Step Three.
Step Three: Send an email to email@example.com telling us your interest in joining our Council and a member of our Admissions Committee will contact you to discuss the next step and schedule a Meet and Great with the Council.
Final Step: Click on the link Membership Form 100 (just below the header - HOW DO I JOIN COUNCIL 4581?) and print the form . You will need to complete the form and bring with you to the Meet and Greet.
History - Garden Grove Council 4581
1958 - On March 30, Council 4581 was chartered to service three parishes: Saint Columban, Saint Callistus, and Saint Barbara (Santa Ana) with 44 members. The first meetings were held at Saint Columban Parish Hall. The first Grand Knight was Vincent J. Scarpino.
1959 - The council moved to the Grange Hall on Century Boulevard, Garden Grove.
1961 - In October, the Columbus Club was formed to hold property for the Council. The first President was Paul E. Black.
1964 - The council purchased the former Redman's Hall on 11022 Garden Grove Boulevard. This building was remodeled by the members.
1975 - The City of Garden Grove acquired the council hall for redevelopment and the council meetings were moved to Saint Callistus School. Richard Rice, PGK became OC Chapter President.
1976 - On January 22, a "Ground Breaking" ceremony was held for a new hall on 13101 Vener Drive, Garden Grove, CA; dedicated on October 23. The Grand Knight was Russ O'Campo
1983 - On March 30, our council celebrated its 25 Anniversary; the Grand Knight was Roger Kenderes.
2001 - The hall was sold and the council meetings were moved to The Woman's Civic Club of Garden Grove 9501 Chapman Avenue, Garden Grove, CA (corner of Chapman and Gilbert).
2008 - On March 30, our council celebrated its 50 Anniversary; the Grand Knight was Michael Madden.
