WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
As defined in the Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity, Apostolicam Actuositatem, Pope Paul VI, November 18, 1965, as a Lay Apostolate Initiative, we have been involved with planning monthly Rosary Rallies (second Sunday of each month at 3 pm usually) in Windsor and Chatham. London, Oshawa, and Sudbury also have begun to hold monthly Rosary Rallies. Our focus is praying for Peace which will come about through a moral and spiritual renewal of our country.
We are following the Coast to Coast Rosary Rallies that began in Poland, and have been held in Ireland, UK, Australia, in our planning a Coast to Coast Rosary Rally across Canada.
WHY THE ROSARY?
The power of the Rosary has been acclaimed in many writings, books, pamphlets, in lives of the Saints, Religious Orders, and Popes. In most, if not all, the apparitions of Our Lady, we are asked to pray the Rosary so that her Immaculate Heart will triumph.
Peace will not be achieved by the humans of this world. We need the help of the Heavenly Kingdom.
With the praying of the Rosary from our hearts we can fight the sources of darkness. It is our Spiritual Sword. We are asking the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede in crushing the evils of this world that are taking us away from God.
The power of prayer can change lives, and also change the course of a country to return to order under God.
October 7, 2018, is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, formerly known as the feast of Our Lady of the Victory, celebrating the answer of the decisive victory of 1571 at the Battle of Lepanto.
The United States’ Coast to Coast Rosary Rally is planned for October 7, so we will be joining our neighboring country in praying for peace.
At 4 pm Eastern Time, and coinciding times of other provinces, the faithful may gather on the Eastern and Western shores and beaches of Canada, the Northern shores (Hudson Bay) or wherever possible, the shores of the Great Lakes, and the St. Lawrence River and other border areas where possible. Others might prefer to pray in front of churches (or inside), in their homes with families, at hospitals or nursing homes, in parks, on sidewalks, or other such public places, etc. Permissions may be needed from the local City Hall, or permits for assembly from the local police department.
THE MAIN THING IS TO PRAY THE ROSARY, WHEREVER YOU ARE!
Along with reciting the Rosary, some of the following options may be added (but not necessary): hymns, (musical instruments), reflections, prayers for protection, signs eg CANADA COAST TO COAST, ROSARY RALLY, PRAYING FOR PEACE.
In addition, those who desire to do so, are encouraged to pray a 54 day novena for the success of the Rally, in advance, in preparation for the event.
