EDWARD S. SKOKOWSKI

 

Edward S. Skokowski, Sr., 84, loving husband of Annabelle M. (Petzer) Skokowski for the past 58 years, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Thursday July 2, 2015 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, PA, Ed was the son of the late Frank R. and Juliana (Rutkowski) Skokowski. Edward was a tool & die maker for the former Doehler-Jarvis corporation in Stowe, PA for 42 years until his retirement in 1995. He had received an associates degree in Machinist Technology. Ed was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp having served during the Korean Conflict. It was while he was in Korea that he received a Purple Heart. He was the historian for his Marine Corp unit H-3-1. He was a Fourth Degree member of Father Bally Council #1192 Knights of Columbus of Stowe, PA . He was also a member of the Marine Corp League and had participated in the Toys for Tots program. He was a long time member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. in Pottstown and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving with his wife are four children Edward S. Skokowski, Jr. husband of Diana of Pacifica, CA, Richard A. Skokowski husband of Laura of Sycamore, IL, Andrew J. Skokowski husband of Janet of Wakefield, RI and Linda M. wife of Dean J. Carpenter of Gilbertsville, PA. Ed is also survived by six grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. Along with his parents he was pre-deceased by a brother Joseph Skokowski and a sister Frances Kijak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C., 223 Beech Street, Pottstown, PA on Thursday July 9, 2015 at 11 A.M. Interment with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA. A viewing will be Wednesday evening July 8, 2015 from 7-9 P.M. and Thursday morning July 9 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. both at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA .
