Worthy Craig Jones became a new Knight this past year. He is a generous and a very responsible mature individual. He attends all our meetings and volunteers to assist our membership director in degree formation, recruitment and retention of members. Our council received his full participation in our tootsie roll drive at Shoppers Food Warehouse as well at our Parish and supported all our efforts in all our council activities as well as Keep Christ in Christmas and church activities. Worthy Craig is welcomed to our council with open arms.
Worthy Evaristus Ojiaku member of our Parish for more than two years, is a Sir Knight and Chancellor of Monsignor Wells Council 13008 this fraternal year. He chaired the Raffle tickets drive this year and always participates in our community activities especially our tootsie roll drives to help the mentally challenged. He and his Family assist in serving, set up or cleanup every month on our council pancake breakfast. He assisted at this year’s at our Soccer shoot out Challenge. His contribution to our community, at a moment notice, although his wife and daughter need medical attention and prayers does not stop him to do a good deed daily.
Worthy Mathias Otradovec continues to play an effective role in our council. His committed participation in our tootsie roll drive at Shoppers contributed to a more successful outcome. Because of his efforts, our hours where more efficiently spent than any of our drives this year. Worthy Matthias, we recognized and appreciate your team work and the responsibilities you are always willing to undertake.
Worthy Nick Dhanaraj has been an usher at our Parish, a Knight of Columbus member almost as long as I have known him. Year after year, Nick and his wife always participate in our community activities, especially the tootsie roll drive, to help the mentally challenged. Nick and his family regularly attend Sunday Masses, other church, cultural and community activities. He is always present at our Soccer shoot out Challenge. By his exemplary behavior, he continues to motivate us to stay steady, be charitable and be fraternal as members of the Knight of Columbus.*
With his leadership and team building, Worthy Marvin Schuttloffel, PGK, PFN provides direction for our council, our parish community and other Councils, in achieving the goal to be the best charitable organizations. Activities that he chaired; Small Item Exchange, Coats for Kids, and Christmas projects continue to bring outstanding rewards for Project Gabriel, the community, parish, and Council funds. In the last 3 years more than $26K has been donated to Project Gabriel. As past Council GK, Advocate and Trustee, Worthy Marvin continues to be a huge resource to the success of our Council.
Worthy Emmanuel Tucker one of our newest members became a Sir Knight this year. He participated in a number of activities and is well known for preparing and serving our council monthly breakfast after Sunday morning masses. This year he co-chaired our raffle tickets annual fundraiser. He motivates and cheers our parishioners as well as our brother knights simply by his presence during any of our activities.
Manoj Thomas Panikkaveetil
Recognized for wanting and being willing to participate at a moments notice in our council activities. His presence is mostly observed at our tootsie Roll Drive, our monthly Family breakfast and our social meetings.
David Czarnecki, PGK is being recognized for his outstanding leadership as Transition Director and the Installation Master of Ceremonies this fraternal year. Dave has served for many years in our council as GK, Trustee, Webmaster and Newsletter Editor. His ability and his human engineering skills are an asset for our council and we appreciate his focus toward excellence
David experienced some of the saddest days anybody can experience with the loss of his father during the month of November. Yet, in spite of all the trials he continued with his commitments with Christmas card sales, the Parish Thanksgiving dinner, supporting the Mustard Seed fund raising campaign through the sales of hand bags and purses and finally the Boys Scouts of America. It is a testament to his character as a man true to his word. God bless you David and your family.
Wilfrid joined Msgr. Wells Council last year and has been a steady and reliable volunteer on council activities. His organizational skills as a Chair of various activities and his willingness to step up to those roles have proven to be most valuable to the council. It is hereby the wish of the Council by unanimous vote to recognize him as the Knight of the month for September.
Mathias joined the council this past April and has been a stalwart volunteer in many of the council's activities. His efforts are exemplary and we are thankful of Mathias.
As the Past Grand Knight 2015-2016 (for the 2nd time) of the Council, Worthy David Czarnecki lead the Council with much energy never missing a Council meeting and always engaged in Council activities. His management of Council business and budget is a model that I'll aspire to emulate.
Deacon Michael Bond
Deacon Michel S. Bond. Deacon Mike is present at almost every Council event often splitting his time between Deacon duties and Council volunteer commitments. Just in the past month he managed to participate in the Corpus Christi Procession, the Altar Server baseball game bus trip and is currently making preparations for the Altar Server / Lector Youth Swim party on June 23. An avid recruiter for the Knights Deacon Mike has demonstrated himself as a major contributor to the Council.
For the last two years Dave has meticulously been recording the meeting minutes of every business meeting. His thoroughness and consistency have proven valuable in recording Council history. Dave is also one of those quiet contributors who is always there to support Council programs and contributes to our success without fanfare.
Since the inception of the Parish Breakfasts, Chris has been a consistent behind the scenes volunteer. As the main pancake chef our pancakes have been legendary. Chris also supplies the kitchen music and is a music/band teacher at Lee Middle School.
Not only is a Dennis a strong leader within the Council with duties as DKG and Activities Chairman but Dennis is a vital supporter of the Parish community as a member of the Parish council and very active participant of the Jamaican Mustard Seed Communities Parish Mission. http://www.mustardseed.com/goto/dennis as well as supporter of Centro Tepeyac.
Chris’s contribution to Council and community can be seen by driving Arcola Rd between Georgia Ave and Kemp Mill Rd. Chris has been responsible for the collection and removal of enough litter to fill dozens of 45 gallon trash bags. Chris also continues to support a number of our youth activities.
Chancellor and Webmaster Rolando DeAlvarez. Rolando has been one of those behind the scene resources that keep the Council running smoothly. Along with his duties as Council Chancellor, Rolando has been responsible for the actual implementation of the new Council website implemented in the past year as well as its ongoing maintenance.
This is the second time this fraternal year that Wilfrid has earned the distinction of Knight of the Month. His service to the Council has been noted from everyone from our Worthy Chaplain Father Dan to members in the community. In the last month Wilfrid has volunteered as our Christmas Card Chairman, assist in the Newsletter, staffed the Membership Blitz table, and toke the initiative to lead a group of fellow brothers to a 3rd degree in November. Thank you again Wilfrid.
Brother William Bolin, PGK can be found at just about all Council activities whether leading, assisting or participating. As a founding member Bill has been instrumental in the forming and developing of our council. His continued leadership as the Council Family Activities Director has resulted in a number of successful Council events including the popular monthly Parish Breakfast and the coming Council Christmas Pot Luck Dinner
Congratulations and deep appreciation to our Tootsie Roll Chairman Wilfrid Amisial. Wilfrid as one of our contributing Knights who has been lurking in the background. Since the summers Altar Server/Lector Swim party there hasn’t been an event that hasn’t been impacted by Wilfrid. He has come forward to lead the Tootsie Roll campaign, bringing out volunteers whom we haven’t seen for a while, Volunteered to co-Chair the Keep Christ in Christmas Cards effort and has recruited two excellent candidates for Knights membership.
Our own Worthy Advocate Sir Marvin Schuttloffel, PGK was recently installed as Faithful Navigator for the Cardinal Patrick A. O’Boyle Assembly. As the Council’s Community Activity Director, Marvin has responsibility for organizing the logistics of a number of Council Community events including the ongoing Household Items Sale, the August Car Raffle Sales and the upcoming Tootsie Roll campaign in September. Marvin’s efforts have made it possible the Council to donate more than $8,000 to Project Gabriel last fraternal year.*
In recognition of his on-going contributions especially for the excellent dinner preparations made for the August 1 Installation of Officers, Trustee John O’Donnell, PGK is our August Knight of the Month. Whether John is outfitted with a pot and ladle or a hammer and screw driver, Brother John never misses an opportunity to identify and satisfy a need of the Council or Parish.*

Rolando and Vivian DeAlvarez
Worthy Rolando DeAlvarez has been the Council Program Director for the past two years. He is a member of the Parish Council. Rolando also lectors and participates at most Saturday morning Mass and Parish Men’s Club meetings. Although he keeps a very busy schedule, his family finds him a very good father and spouse. His wife and children’s respect and love for others are expressed by their actions is well recognized. As a faithful Catholic gentleman, he spends quality time with others in a productive and caring manner.
William and Anne Bolin
William Bolin, his wife and children have been participating in most church, family, vocational, youth, prolife, council and many community activities since day one. Mr. Bolin is a teacher completely imbedded in the Catholic faith. He leads by example as a charitable and caring parishioner and member of Monsignor Wells Council 13008. His wife and children’s participation are visible to everyone who gets to know them. He chaired for many years Family Activities, our council’s monthly Pancake Breakfast, and annual Christmas party. He volunteers his time without being asked by his own recognizance and initiatives. Worthy Bill Bolin is Past Grand Knight and because of his motivation in retaining members others feel more apt to become a more inclusive part of our council.
David and Lisa Luksic
Worthy David Luksic, our Knight of Columbus agent enjoys and builds relationships with everyone in our council, churches and communities. His wife Lisa and children Joseph and Julia’s respect and love for others are expressed by their actions and we mostly recognize their participation during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. This Family although saddened by the loss of a parent continued to help us stay focus in our faith. If asked, David is always willing to do all possible to arrange his schedule to give us a hand. He is a faithful Catholic gentleman always willing to greet a friend and continuously helping others to be productive and caring for one another.
Chris & Mary Farrell
I have known Chris for the past 20 or more years. William Christopher Farrell, his wife Mary and children Elizabeth, and Luke regularly participate in many civic, sport, scouting, church and other community activities. Mr. Farrell is a fervent Catholic, a loving spouse, and father. Since its inception Chris has chaired the Adopt-A-Road program. He serves as a lector for our parish and participates in various functions in many churches in our area. During walks to churches or the shopping center in our neighborhood, he disposes of debris blown by natural turbulent weather conditions such as rain, or snow storms, to maintain a safe environment. He encourages others to strive for excellence, and to do a good deed daily.*
Matthias and Heidi Otradovec
Worthy Matthias Otradovec enjoys and builds relationships with most everyone in our council. His respect and love for others are expressed by his words and actions with all of us. He is always eager to volunteer his time in all Council and Church activities. Worthy Matthias Otradovec, his wife Heidi and daughter Janet show through their eagerness to volunteer their love for our Lord Jesus Christ with all their heart, soul, entire mind and strength. He is always willing to invite a friend to share a cup of coffee and in so doing continuously develop personal relationship with a brother knight.
Dennis and Isabelle Gorres
Since I have known Dennis Gorres, our council Past Grand Knight, he, his wife Isabelle and children Christopher, Patrick, Francine, Katrina and mostly Carmela participate in most if not all activities organized by our church. He is a Catholic gentleman, loving spouse, and father. Even when his home was recently vandalized and burglarized, his attitude has not changed, he is always pleasant with all of us and forgiving. His participation in our parish has always been exemplary. He has chaired several events and activities and his wife is always volunteering for church activities such as the Mustard Seeds programs and Baby bottles fundraising for pregnant mothers and more to elevate the culture of life.

John O’Donnell and his wife Ada’s participation have always been beyond the call of duty in our council. As Council Director for the past two years John O’Donnell demonstrates exemplary accomplishments not only in attendance but also by consistently hands on the grill and by being one to practice charity and this we need in a charitable and beneficial organization such as ours for our members and those in needs
Werner and Margaret Moeller
Werner Moeller, PGK, his wife Margaret and children Joe, Karen, and Matt are being recognized not only for participating in our parish but in many other catholic churches in activities that elevate our communications with other Knights of Columbus councils. Werner Moeller, as our Membership Director, is involved in our membership drives, admission degrees, installation ceremony and provides a weekly calendar of events and this information is also communicated one on one to our active or inactive members that is beneficial in our members’ development as Knights.

Jim and Julie Benjamin have been parishioners of St. Andrew’s for 3 years, have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Their youngest, Andrew, is a senior at DeMatha Catholic High School, volunteers in Faith Formation and participates in Youth Ministry. Retired from the Navy, Jim now works for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, is involved in Father Dan’s healing ministry and serves as a Faith Formation catechist and Eucharistic minister and occasionally helps with Youth Ministry. Julie is the Director of Religious Education at St. Andrew’s, is involved in the Lector ministry and serves on Father Dan’s Anima Christi Retreats team.

Jim and Melanie are long time parishioners of St Andrew Apostle. They have two James (Jimmy) Francis Kmetz - 12 years and Suzanne Elena Kmetz 16 years. Both attended St. Andrew Apostle parish school.

Manoj joined the council this year and has participated in numerous activities including several Parish Breakfasts and the Keep Christ in Christmas Card sales.
Mike & Theresa Trigiani
Theresa is the director of the Children's Choir and Mass Cantor. Michael works as a law enforcement officer in the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. Michael has served as traffic controller on Arcola Ave. during the Christmas and Easter Masses, ensuring the safety of parishioners and local. Little Michael junior sings with the children's choir and serves as an altar server.
Jim and Lorraine Priestley
Jim and Lorraine Priestley have long been major contributors to the St Andrew the Apostle Parish community. Both have acted as Eucharistic Ministers and participated as Christmas stocking stuffers for the Little Sisters of the Mercy. Jim leads the Church collection counting and acts as Pancake chef for the Senior Group while Lorraine acts as group lead for the Seniors Group and Social Justice Ministry and up to only recently was coordinator for the SOME delivery drivers. She works as a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Arcola Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and since 1997 a member of the Parish Health Ministry.
Paul and Constance Sanneman
At most Council activities there is a usual contingent of Sanneman family members. The Council is blessed to have Paul Peter and Phillip as members. Paul and Connie have been long supporters of multiple Parish activities.
PGK Marvin and Mimi Schuttloffel
Many of our successful events have been the result of the efforts of Marvin and Mimi. Most recently the purchasing and serving of refreshments at the reception at the Silver Rose event in November and their assistance during the Christmas Dinner. Their attention to detail and execution allow these types of events to occur almost without notice. The Council and parishioners enjoy the results of their efforts essentially without the appreciation of the diligence required to make these events occur without a hiccup.
Trustee Werner and Margaret Moeller
Werner and Margaret consistently provide support to many Council and Parish events. Werner is active in the 4th Degree choir and is deeply involved in nearly every Council event.

Although Tony passed away in November 2012, Laverne and Denise have continued to be strong Council supporters both as a participant and contributor. We wish to recognize their many years of contribution.
John and Ada O'Donnell
It was no accident that John who was our August Knight of the Month that we should select the family of John and Ada O’Donnell as our October Family of the Month. As the saying goes “behind every great man is a great family” (or something like that) was never demonstrated so vividly as during the summer Council Picnic. A little hip reconstruction surgery didn’t slow down the O’Donnell participation. It was inspiring to see how Ada and Carl filled in for John while he was on the disable list. Their participation is also commendable when John is at full strength.
Kevin and Lise Baur
Kevin and Lise Baur are long time St. Andrew the Apostle parishioners with their sons, James and John, and Lise's mother. Lise is a Faith Formation teacher and very active in the Pro Life Group at St. Andrew's. Lise spoke at our social meeting about the Prayer meetings on Saturdays. Kevin works for an architecture firm and has recently joined the Catholic Church. James is an usher and John was a long time altar server. For their consistent dedication to parish life, the Council is happy to nominate the Baur Family as our Family of the month. *
David and Lisa Luksic
The family of Inside Guard and Field Agent David Luksic is our August Family of the Month. David, his wife Lisa and their two little ones, Joseph and Julia were all out in force this past August. By rallying participants from the Men's group, Boy Scouts, Youth group and the Knights and utilizing two power washers they directed an herculean effort to wash off a years’ worth of dirt and grime from the tables and chairs in the Parish multipurpose room, just in time for the evenings Installation dinner. *
Barbara and Paul Girolani
The family of Barbara and Paul Girolani and their children Cecilia and Tony. Since the very first days Council 13008, Barbara has been a behind the scenes contributor. Hardly a Church event occurred, including Council Installations, special Masses, or Community Sundays that did involve her participation. Barbara retired as the Parish Director of Music in April. Paul who is member of Father Rosensteel Council #2169 continues to support our own Council during a number of activities.*
