FAMILIES OF THE MONTH

February 2014

Norm and Jeannie Burggraf

Norm and Jeannie Burggraf have been named Family of the Month for February 2014 for Queen of Peace Council 8617. Norm has been a member of our council for a number of years but has been in the Knights for almost 36 years and is a third degree. He and Jeannie have been involved in our fish fries, breakfasts and other council activities. Norm has been the chairman for our fairly new and successful steak fries and is currently the Deputy Grand Knight, Program Director, past Advocate and he and Jeannie are the Pro Life Couple for our Council.

January 2014

Mike and Lisa Portolese

Mike and Lisa Portolese have been named as Family of the Month for January 2014 for Queen of Peace Council 8617. Mike has been a member of the council for 11 years, is a third degree and is currently our Vocations Program Chairman and has held various other offices. Mike has been very involved in our fish fries, breakfasts and other council activities. He is also very active in our Parish Peacefest every year, is a member of the church choir and is in charge of Church and School Technology. Mike was also a member of CHRP Team 2. Lisa helps with the school lunches, coaches the varsity volleyball team, field trip driver, chairperson for Book Fairs, runs the Piggy Raffle at our Mardi Gras events, is a major part of our Vacation Bible School program and is in charge of the Rummage sale at Peacefest every year. They have four children Katie, Michael, Olivia and Abby.

December 2013

David and Stephanie Smith

Dave and Stephanie Smith have been named as Family of the Month for December 2013 for Queen of Peace Council 8617. Dave has been a member of the council for almost three years and is a first degree. Dave has been involved in our fish fries, Peace Fest, other council activities, was the co-chair of our breakfast this past September, started the Queen of Peace softball team and also ran the first ever waffle ball tournament at PeaceFest this past August and it turned out to be a great success. Stephanie has also helped at some of the Council activities, attended a CHRP Retreat and belongs to the Women’s book club here at Church.
