Special Message from the State Deputy and Membership Director:
October is now upon us. During this month, we band together with councils around the country to participate in the Order-wide Church Membership Drive. Many of your councils ordered their membership drive materials at the fall workshops and should now have received your materials. However, the State Deputy and State Membership Director will be working with your District Deputies over the next week to provide each of you with whatever support is still needed in your Council. The goal is for each Council to host a successful membership drive this fall, keeping in mind that the first step to a successful drive is setting a date. We cannot simply place Form 100's on a table and rely on candidates to search us out; we must be willing to go to them with our membership drives! Please work with your DDs and council members to set a date for your October Order-wide Church Membership Drive this month. Remember the words of our Supreme Knight: It is a moral obligation to ask every eligible Catholic man to join the Knights of Columbus.
“What can we do to help those suffering as a result of Hurricane Harvey?”
We have posed this question to the leadership of the Texas State Council Knights of Columbus and to Catholic Charities. Their answer is, at this time, the best thing we can do is to make monetary donations. The Oklahoma State Council recently sent a contribution of $5,000.00 from our disaster relief fund to the Texas State Council. At this time, we encourage our members to prayerfully consider making a donation. If a council wants to do a project, we suggest that it be a fund raiser and that the proceeds be donated to the Texas State Council Knights of Columbus or to Catholic Charities. Use the links below to direct your monetary donations.
Recovery from this historic catastrophe will be on-going for many months, possibly years. Catholic organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Charities and St Vincent DePaul will be directly involved in the recovery process for the duration. As this process matures there may be opportunities for our members and councils to provide goods and/or man-power services. At this time we need to be patient and wait for the second responders who are on the ground now to request our physical support.

Who Are the Knights of Columbus?
DID YOU KNOW???
Did you know the Center of Family Love must raise $10,000 annually to meet each of their resident’s needs? The Center of Family Love never charges their residents or their families for the care they provide in the event they cannot afford to live there. Incidentally, 99% of their residents require Medicaid support for their needs.
To assist the the COFL with their mission to provide quality lifetime care to individuals with developmental disabilities, the Knights are embarking on "The Love Challenge". This program aims to challenge Catholic parishes across Oklahoma to adopt one intellectually and physically disabled friend who lives at the Center of Family Love. Parishes are called to designate a Team Champion to assist with The Love Challenge at their local level. Team Champions and parishes will be given marketing and support materials to assist in this challenge.
