Urgent: Call your state Representative to reject NY/VA Style Abortion Expansion
Please call your RI state Representative over the next few days regarding both versions of the extreme abortion bills pending in the House: H 5127 (Ajello) / S 152 (Goldin) and H 5125 (Williams). And then spread the word to others.
Please make sure they understand how extreme both of these bills are, and that you want them to oppose any and every effort to move either version of these bills. Some talking points about these bills are furnished along with the appropriate district and / or State House phone number.
VERY IMPORTANT - Please DO NOT email, or especially call, a Representative or Senator UNLESS you live in their district! They want to hear from you if you are their constituent, but if not, it is considered a form of harassment and will hurt our cause. If you want to do more after calling your Representative, please educate family, friends, and neighbors to do the same.

A hearing began this past Tuesday afternoon before the House Judiciary Committee on two versions of an extreme New York style abortion expansion bill that would turn Rhode Island into a haven for late term abortions. The marathon hearing finished at nearly 3 a.m. on Wednesday with both bills being "held for further study." This means that both bills remain in play and could yet proceed to the floor for a vote, through a variety of mechanisms, right up until the end of the session.
For those wondering how the hearings went, I would say that while we did not lose, as our opponents had anticipated, neither did we decisively win, even though we outnumbered the other side decisively. What it means is that, contrary to the "obituary" written for us two years ago by local and national media elites, we are still very much in the fight.
While a heavily-edited video from WPRI suggests we have already lost, my sources indicate that the situation remains fluid. Here's what we need to do to beat the odds and save babies:
I am outnumbered each day and need volunteers to join me at the State House every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:15 to 4:15 pm. If you can come hand out information to legislators, hold signs, and give witness by your presence, please email me.
We have begun a PETITION to share with House and Senate Leadership to show them that our numbers are greater than the other side. Please share widely and mobilize your church.
