The protection of life is a sustained prayer intention of the Catholic Church, and in particular of the Knights of Columbus. Knights remain firmly committed to defending the right to life of every human being – from the moment of conception to natural death.

In response to Governor Pritzker's Abortion Bill, the U.S. Senate's failure to pass the Born Alive Protection Act, and bolster this important cause, Fr. Boecker Council 6090 will promote and co-sponsor a Novena, nine days of sustained prayer, to build up a culture of life in our parishes, homes and wider community. This Novena for Life to begin Sunday March 3rd. All members of the community are welcome to join us.

In keeping with our new programming model, "Faith in Action", Fr. Beocker Council will list all ministries which support this effort as a partners on our website and Facebook posts. Just respond with any link your ministry would like to use. Just message us.

In order to keep this as simple as possible, we will post the Novena each day on our council's website, and Facebook page, and invite everyone to follow along. We will also email you a daily reminder, which you may forward to your email lists and prayer chains. Just message us.

We are hoping to spread the word over email chains from each parish ministry, and word of mouth.

Dues

A great big THANKS to all members who have paid their dues. A number of members have yet to respond to our call for dues. Please return payment as soon as possible. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated and will eliminate additional expenses to the Council.

Also, as in past years, we are asking for a donation to the Newman Fund. Our goal is 100% participation; we suggest a $10 contribution but any donation will be appreciated. Brothers, we urge you to pay your dues. Please take the time to drop your check in the mail, or even better, come to our meeting on Thursday, February 2nd, get reacquainted with your Brother Knights, and hear first- hand what your Council is doing. If you have any questions or request assistance with the payment of your dues, please contact either the Grand Knight Joe Martinet at chief.martinet@gmail.com or Financial Secretary Frank Birner at smc3979@aol.com.

Please use the use the online option if you wish to pay by credit card. You will have to enter the amount from your dues statement, Any amount over your dues, will go into the Newman Fund (again, we suggest a $10 contribution but any donation will be appreciated), and will be also charged an online fee of $3.50.  This fee will appear as "Shipping" on the check out.

Thanks Guys. Bless You
